Doulas support in pregnancy, birth and in the postnatal period by providing information, advocacy, and offering practical and emotional support to the whole family. Doula UK was founded in 2001 to promote life-changing support from skilled doulas for families in the childbearing year regardless of circumstance, while advocating for better support for UK families. They have approximately 700 doulas working in all parts of the United Kingdom.

Your body after the birth (the first 6 weeks)

Your body has just been through a challenging experience, and you’ll probably feel sore and bruised. It may take a while to recover, so make sure you take things slowly and talk to your midwife or health visitor if anything worries you. For more information please visit Tommy's.
